A golfer doesn't necessarily have to dress well to score well, but when you post a handicap-improving round and perhaps want to go from the course to a summer gathering to celebrate, then it doesn't hurt
Warm weather outdoor activities, including golf, are upon us, so whether you’re teeing it up, headed to the shore or flipping steaks on a grill, here are a few fun looks we’ve curated for the season.
◼ Dunning Golf’s Hemisphere performance golf short will stand up to any warm playing conditions.
"Just launched for summer / fall '19, the Hemisphere golf short is one of our new favorites,” said Chris Frame, brand manager. “The Hemisphere has a tailored fit and is made from our proprietary Coolmax fabric technology. It’s an updated take on our best-selling Player Fit woven short. The comfortable four-way stretch creates unmatched freedom of movement and ultimate versatility."
Wear the Elgin jersey micro stripe golf shirt in four colorways, and toss the Stirling long sleeve crew neck top in the bag for an extra lightweight layer if needed.
◼ GGblue’s Alexa sleeveless, mock neck top is extra versatile with its collar and sleeve accent trim colors.
“The Alexa top is so soft and lightweight, it’s easy to wear and great for summer travel. We added the vertical back tape detail for an element of pop and flair,” said Patti Varrelmann, CEO and founder.
Pair with GGblue’s flirty Flounce pull-on skort in white with navy asymmetrical ruffle and tummy control waistband. For an extra apres golf layer, throw on the lightweight, full-zip Jackie jacket.
◼ Devereux’s Playa cotton camp shirt features a bold tropical print made with lightweight cotton poplin.
“When I came across this design at a small print house in Northern Portugal, I was first attracted by the bold red flower and subtle use of bright blue,” said Robert Brunner, co-founder and creative director. “I knew this was a statement print but had to find the right garment to print it on. The garment had to align with the playfulness of this print, and the camper shirt is a perfect vehicle. It is a relaxing yet fun shirt that speaks to the vacationer who is headed to an exotic destination. We want this shirt to signify fun times ahead."
The Playa shirt paired with Devereux’s Gravity short and G*LF hat creates an outfit that can take a golfer anywhere from traveling, to a beach party, or a craft brew pub.
◼ Kinona Sport’s Simply Chic sleeveless golf dress doubles as a backyard BBQ outfit when paired with a pair of summer sneakers or sandals.
"We designed the Simply Chic dress to be your "go-to" golf dress, but wanted to add some sass on the back that makes it work as well with a pair of flip flops or wedges to wear to a summer evening concert as it does on the golf course,” said Jarleth Mellett, designer.
Golf dresses are a big part of Kinona’s offerings with 15 options. All of the dresses are made from an Italian-sourced nylon/lyrca blend fabric with UPF 50+ built in. They also have pockets and breathable mesh undershorts with gripper tape around the thighs to keep them from riding up.
