New beginnings and familiar faces
Grab a partner! It's time for team golf on the PGA Tour this week, and there are a number of duos in Louisiana worth keeping an eye on. With the Zurich Classic of New Orleans having been canceled last year, Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer are still the defending champs. Here's hoping they can improve their celebration if a repeat is in the cards.
While new partnerships are being formed, familiar faces have re-emerged this season on the PGA and LPGA tours. Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama snapped winless streaks spanning more than 1,300 days, and now Lydia Ko has made her long-awaited return to the winner's circle.
The opening tee shots at the Masters this year were extra special for a few reasons. One of those was not the golf balls Gary Player's son elected to promote during the ceremony. If his father's comments are any indication, Player likely is headed to the tee with a new caddie next April.
Also in the news, a significant development in the PGA Tour's COVID-19 testing process. We've got it all for you in this week's "Up and Down."
