Leave this week to the professionals

The most popular substitute on the PGA Tour returns to the bag of a player with a victory already under his belt this season. The reason? His usual looper has a tournament of his own to play on the other side of the country.

Rangefinders were the hot topic early in the week at the PGA Championship, which will be the first major championship in which players will be allowed to use the distance-measuring devices in competition. The move has produced mixed reviews from players and caddies alike but caught one player, in particular, entirely by surprise.

Someone is going to have to cover the shifts of Derek Holmes this week. The PXG store manager in Minnesota is one of 20 PGA professionals in the field at Kiawah after qualifying in dramatic fashion.

And a reminder, because it's been some time since this was a realistic possibility: Jordan Spieth can win the career Grand Slam this week. It's all in the major-championship week edition of "Up and Down."
