November 04, 2019 07:50 PM

Rory McIlroy might not acknowledge that he is a rival to No. 1-ranked Brooks Koepka, but the Northern Irishman's game of late certainly has stamped him as a worthy opponent. No. 2-ranked McIlroy won the WGC HSBC Champions, his fourth title of 2019. Phil Mickelson, who fell out of the top 50 in the world for the first time since Nov. 28, 1993, faces long odds to make Tiger Woods’ Presidents Cup team, which will be announced this week. Nelly Korda wins in Taiwan to emerge as perhaps the best American on the LPGA. That can only boost much-needed interest in women’s golf in the U.S. Like it or not, Christina Kim does her job as a competitor in protecting the field in the LPGA Q-Series.
