Youth on Course Announces Partnership with Rochester District Golf Association

Affordable Rounds for Kids Now Available in Hub of Golf History

(PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.)Youth on Course – the non-profit organization providing young people with subsidized golf, college scholarships, caddie programs and paid internships – partners with Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA) to bring affordable junior golf to Upstate New York.

Members ages 6-18 in this district can join the Youth on Course national network and access golf for $5 or less per round at 1,000 facilities across 29 states. Currently, ten courses in the RDGA portfolio offer Youth on Course, including Champion Hills Country Club, Conesus Golf Club and Old Hickory Golf Course, among others.

“In the RDGA, we have yet another incredible partner that serves a passionate golf community,” says Adam Heieck, Youth on Course CEO. “We look forward to providing Rochester’s youth with easily accessible rounds of golf.”

Steeped in tradition, this is the birthplace of legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones and the town that raised Walter Hagan, one of golf’s greatest players. The town of 1 million is home to courses designed by world-renowned architects including Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones and A.W. Tillinghast.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Youth on Course to the Rochester community,” says Tim Vangellow, Executive Director of the Rochester District Golf Association. “Our juniors now have access to golf at a cost that will eliminate the sport’s barrier to entry for a lot of our residents.”

Operating in every U.S. region, Youth on Course has more than 50,000 active members. Since 2006, juniors have played more than 10 million holes and 765,000 rounds while the organization has helped generate more than $5.2 million in tee-time revenue reimbursed back to individual golf courses.

In addition to subsidized rounds, Youth on Course also facilitates paid internships, a caddie program and nationwide scholarships. They have awarded 223 students with college scholarships totaling more than $1.4 million in financial support. The current Youth on Course scholarship retention rate is ninety-four percent, with 80 students already graduated. | Facebook | Instagram | LinkedIn | Twitter
