Harbour Town inn wins regional honor

Travel + Leisure Readers Recognize Resort in World’s Best Awards

Hilton Head Island, SC (July 10, 2018) - The Inn & Club at Harbour Town—rated Hilton Head Island's No. 1 luxury hotel—has been named among the top 10 hotels in the south by Travel + Leisure, on the new list released today.  Additionally, Hilton Head Island was named the number 1 island in the U.S. by the readers of the prestigious travel magazine.

The Inn & Club— majestically set within The Sea Pines Resort—is known for its elegant décor coupled with legendary service and a host of premium complimentary amenities. The property--ranked number 9 in the south–-has 60 guest rooms fitted with modern furnishings and conveniences, all enhanced by design elements that complement the natural beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Resort guests also have easy access to a full slate of exemplary experiences from stunning beaches, award-winning golf courses (and instruction), and an equestrian center, to pools, tennis, shopping, and the world-famous Harbour Town Yacht Basin.

“We are delighted to be recognized among the finest hotels in the country by the readers of Travel + Leisure,” said John Munro, Vice President of Hospitality, Sales and Marketing, The Sea Pines Resort.  “This award speaks to the dedication of our staff and their commitment to providing a world-class guest experience.”

The Travel + Leisure World’s Best awards are based on an annual reader survey. The 2018 results appear in the August 2018 issue of Travel + Leisure magazine—considered by many as a one-stop resource for sophisticated travelers who crave travel tips, news, and information—and on T+L’s website.

The Sea Pines Resort, the legendary Lowcountry destination situated on the southernmost tip of Hilton Head Island, features five miles of unspoiled beaches, 21 clay tennis courts, 14 miles of bike and walking trails, horseback riding, Eco-Adventures, water sports, and the 605-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve rich in wildflowers, wetlands, and more than 130 species of birds. As the first Eco-planned destination in the U.S., The Sea Pines Resort has become the blueprint for numerous beach developments around the country.

The Sea Pines Resort is also home to one of the crown jewels in the world of golf, Pete Dye's classic Harbour Town Golf Links (site of the PGA TOUR's annual RBC Heritage), as well as two other highly-rated courses, Heron Point by Pete Dye and Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III.

Earlier this year, the Resort was recognized among the top 50 hotels in the country by U.S. News & World Report and the Atlantic Dunes Course as the National Golf Course Owners Association “Course of the Year.”

The resort's best-in-class collection of golf courses, amenities, dining experiences, meeting facilities, and accommodations makes Sea Pines one of the most sought-after leisure and group destinations in America.
