TPC Harding Park produces a thrilling PGA Championship and a fresh young champion in Collin Morikawa, but the Grill Room guys agree that this was not your father’s version of a major setup
Grill Room co-host Bob Bubka salutes PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa but says TPC Harding Park was too easy for a major event. Jay Randolph Jr. doesn’t disagree but points out that this generation of major championships is different from previous eras. Given that overview, Randolph highlights the fact that Morikawa has the same number of missed cuts on the PGA Tour as he does major championships: one. Morikawa won the PGA at age 23, with his third PGA Tour victory and in only his 29th start. Bubka and Randolph discuss the 102nd PGA Championship, including the ever-present Bryson DeChambeau, before they preview the last regular-season event on Tour, this week’s Wyndham Championship.
