The PGA Championship, which was moved from May to August and will be the first major event to be played in the revised season, will serve as a key benchmark this year, Bob Bubka says
The major professional golf tours announced a new proposed tournament schedule because of the coronavirus pandemic, but how likely is the reset to happen? Co-hosts Bob Bubka and Jay Randolph Jr. discuss the scenarios on “In the Grill Room.” Regarding the PGA Championship, which was moved from May to August and will be the first major event to be played, Bubka said: “If it does unfold in that first week in August, that to me will be a very positive sign that we’ve rounded the corner with this virus. If it has to be canceled, that means we’re still struggling with the virus.” Alex Miceli, the founder and publisher of Morning Read, joins the conversation and talks about the major championships. For the first time since World War II, one of them won’t be played.
