The Phoenix Open has no equal on the PGA Tour, and that's probably a good thing, the Grill Room co-hosts say
It’s a good thing that there is only one Phoenix Open on the PGA Tour, co-hosts Bob Bubka and Jay Randolph Jr. agree. The event has carved out a unique place in golf, but it would be difficult – and probably even unnecessary – to try to duplicate it. The stadium par-3 16th hole, with its rock-concert atmosphere, is at the center of the hype for what has become “a destination event,” Randolph said. And by the way, there was a winner among all the hoopla: Webb Simpson rallied to overtake Tony Finau for his sixth Tour victory. The co-hosts also discuss Brett Quigley’s first victory on the Champions Tour and Graeme McDowell’s career statement in Saudi Arabia.
