Justin Thomas breathes sigh of relief after ‘bizarre way to finish’ in Hawaii
Justin Thomas further cements his status as one of the game’s elite players by winning right away in 2020. Co-host Bob Bubka and Morning Read’s Alex Miceli, sitting in for Jay Randolph Jr., discuss Thomas’ victory in the Sentry Tournament of Champions and this week’s second stop on the Hawaii Swing, the Sony Open in Honolulu. Thomas, at age 26, acknowledges the ‘bizarre way to finish’ in winning his 12th PGA Tour title. As the Tour moves to welcome gambling, incidents such as what Patrick Reed faced with a heckler in Hawaii could become more commonplace. As Miceli noted, though, Reed could have done a lot to avoid it. Also, commissioner Jay Monahan discusses the state of the PGA Tour with Bubka.
