All-New Cougar Point Clubhouse
In May, Kiawah Island Golf Resort opened the doors of the new Cougar Point Clubhouse, replacing the original built when the golf course opened in 1976. The timeless Robert A.M. Stern Architects design of the new clubhouse will age gracefully to serve golfers and resort guests for generations.

The west wing features a full-service pro shop and elegantly appointed men’s and women’s locker rooms. A spacious center hall offers comfortable seating around a large fireplace for an enviable spot to relax on chilly fall and winter evenings. Resembling a rambling Southern cottage, the clubhouse’s sweeping porch—lined with tables and rocking chairs—graces the length of its south façade. It’s an open invitation for guests to while away the time over drinks, catch refreshing ocean breezes and enjoy expansive views of the finishing par-4 hole.

At the heart of it all is The Players’ Pub, a lively sports tavern and bar in the east wing. The menu features classic American fare with selections to satisfy both comfort food seekers and discerning epicureans. It’s a prime spot for a hearty pre-round breakfast, relaxed lunch with friends, fun family dinner (complete with kid-friendly favorites) and victorious post-round drinks. And you won’t miss a moment of your favorite sports teams in action with multiple flat-screen televisions broadcasting every play.

Additional Clubhouse Dining
If the 19th is one of the favorite holes of your round, you will be quite pleased with the offerings of Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s numerous other clubhouses at the famed Ocean Course, Osprey Point and Cougar Point. Every clubhouse restaurant offers appetizing game day specials throughout football season, but they each deliver a unique dining experience.

For genuine Southern barbecue paired with your choice of more than 60 local, imported, draft and craft beers, we recommend Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House at Osprey Point Clubhouse. Chef Keith Richardson smokes the meats over local hardwoods on the premises and seasons them with house-made rubs.

Turtle Point Clubhouse offers two restaurants—the relaxed Turtle Point Bar & Grille offering artisanal sandwiches, salads and other casual fare and Tomasso at Turtle Point, an Italian Gathering Place serving authentic old-world cuisine infused with the Lowcountry’s fresh, local ingredients.

The Ocean Course Clubhouse offers an additional two dining venues. For modern pub dishes with a side of views onto the iconic Ocean Course, pull up a seat at The Ryder Cup Bar. (The specialty of the house is the Crispy Shrimp, which you can enjoy as you watch the shrimping boats glide by.) For a memorable evening out, The Atlantic Room is a remarkable choice. As the resort’s signature seafood restaurant, the menu features fresh, sustainably-caught fish complemented by an extensive wine list.

Annual Golf Events
In addition to the Golf or Gourmet Escape, Kiawah Island Golf Resort hosts a number of events that players return for time after time. This February, the property offers two four-day Women’s Golf Getaways highlighted by bootcamp-style instruction to improve your game quickly.

For male players, the resort organizes two annual competitions. Now in its 14th year, the Friendship Cup is a two-man tournament that will be contested on The Ocean Course and Cougar Point, March 5 – 8, 2020. It will be immediately followed by the 21st annual National Pro-Am on March 8 – 12, 2020, which will see teams consisting of one PGA pro plus three of his members participating in some “serious golf…serious competition.”
