Bandon Dunes Golf Resort — Sheep Ranch — Hole No. 6
As open and serene as the 460-yard, par-4 sixth hole appears, the hole can be a brute. The tee shot is a forced carry over the cliffline to open fairway. And while the green is rather expansive, it's guarded by rough on the immediate left and out of bounds on right. Factor in the winds of the day and this No. 1 handicap hole could play more like a par 5. (Photo: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort)
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort — Sheep Ranch — Hole No. 7
Sheep Ranch is Bandon Dunes Golf Resort's northernmost course, but playing into the par-3 seventh hole's infinity green on the property's southwestern tip offers coastline views of the resort's Old Macdonald, Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes courses. (Photo: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort)
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort — Sheep Ranch — Hole No. 9
Sheep Ranch's ninth hole showcases one of the course's unique characteristics — the lack of any sand bunkers. Course co-designer Bill Coore said that because of the seaside winds, "formal sand bunkers could be maintenance nightmares." (Photo: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort)

The par-3 16th hole sits atop Five Mile Point, a slight nub off the coastline cliffs, and shares a double green with hole No. 3.  (Photo: Bandon Dunes Golf Resort)
