Golf's next superstar? Meet John Pak, the 2021 Ben Hogan Award winner
Many PGA Tour champions sharpened their games – and prepared for life as professionals – by becoming collegiate superstars. Florida State senior John Pak will now look to continue the legacy, as he won the Ben Hogan Award as the NCAA's top men's golfer in a ceremony at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 4. In addition to his national player-of-the-year honor, Pak also won the ACC Player of the Year and was a Ping first-team All-American.
In this interview with Morning Read contributor Adam Stanley, Pak reacts to winning the Ben Hogan Award, and also discusses his journey to golf and what his time at Florida State meant to him.
As for what's next, Pak has recently turned professional, and he will make his PGA Tour pro debut this week at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree.
"I'm just really excited to take that next step in my career. I feel like I have to be a grown-up now," he said with a laugh. See the full interview above, and look for more of Pak this summer on the pro tours.
