Yes, you can bet on the 2020 QBE Shootout. Here are the latest betting odds, and whom we like

Matthew Wolff and partner Abraham Ancer are favorites this week, according to oddsmakers.

Oddsmakers like Abraham Ancer and Matthew Wolff, but Harris English and Matt Kuchar own a winning history in the event

The 2020 PGA Tour season ended with a strong finish for the picks heading into 2021. Even though we did not pick the winner at last week's Mayakoba Golf Classic, Harris English and Carlos Ortiz recorded top-10 finishes, and Corey Conners followed up with a T-17. Winner Viktor Hovland made a clutch birdie on the 72nd hole to separate himself from the field and earn his second career victory.

For the next two weeks, we turn to a couple of fun team tournaments to close out the year. This week, the QBE Shootout will consist of 12 two-person teams in a 54-hole event that starts Friday at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla. The first round will be a scramble, the second round will use a modified alternate shot and the final round will consist of four-balls. In two of the three rounds, there’s an opportunity to have two players putting, so expect a low-scoring weekend.

According to William Hill, the favorite pair is Abraham Ancer and Matthew Wolff, at 11-2. Both are coming off of impressive seasons on the PGA Tour. Cameron Champ and Tony Finau were next at 6-1, followed by major champions Louis Oosthuizen and Bubba Watson at 13-2. Red-hot Harris English and his partner Matt Kuchar were listed at 7-1.

This week, there are simply not enough competitors, so we’re just going to pick a winner. Continuing last week’s theme, it’s hard to ignore how well Harris English is playing and he followed that up with a scintillating final-round 63 to capture a top-5 finish at Mayakoba.

On top of that, he has partnered with Matt Kuchar six out of seven times playing in the QBE Shootout, and they won it in 2013 and 2016. The best combined team putting over the past 24 rounds on Tour is Harris English and Matt Kuchar and English ranks highest on Bermudagrass over the same time period against this field. When considering team chemistry, history at the event and current form, English and Kuchar rates as the best bet at the QBE Shootout.
