PGA Tour Series-China's event in Hong Kong is canceled

Event canceled because of civil unrest and safety concerns

Canceled: PGA Tour Series-China’s season-ending event in Hong Kong, because of civil unrest and safety concerns, the tour announced. The Clearwater Bay Open, which had been scheduled as the 14th and final tournament on the developmental tour, had been set for Oct. 17-20 at Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. The season will end with the Macau Championship on Oct. 10-13, and the top five on the China tour’s money list will earn spots on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2020. Hong Kong has been racked by violence, which began as opposition to an extradition law as citizens press mainland China for greater democracy and self-rule.

Extended: By five years, the Champions Tour’s sponsorship deal with Exact Sciences to play the Cologuard Classic at Tucson (Ariz.) National Resort, through the 2025 season on the 50-and-older tour. The 2020 Cologuard Classic is set for Feb. 28-March 1.
