Announced: By the Champions Tour, a new tournament in Morocco in 2020. The Morocco Champions will debut at Samanah Golf Club in Marrakesh on Jan. 30-Feb. 1. The 54-hole event will consist of 66 players competing for a $2 million purse, with a Saturday finish. Of this year’s 27 tournaments on the Champions Tour schedule, only three – the MasterCard Japan Championship; the Senior British Open, in England; and the Shaw Charity Classic, in Canada – were held outside of the U.S. The 50-and-older tour’s complete schedule is expected to be released later this year. Since 2010, the European Tour has played the Trophee Hassan II at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat. Europe’s Challenge Tour and the Ladies European Tour also visit Morocco annually.

The honor affords lifetime eligibility for tour events.
