Named: Rory McIlroy, as the PGA Tour’s player of the year, in balloting among the Tour’s membership. McIlroy, 30, of Northern Ireland, won three times, including the FedEx Cup season title at the Tour Championship. He will receive the Jack Nicklaus Award for the third time, having also won POY in 2012 and 2014. South Korea’s Sungjae Im won the vote for rookie of the year. Im, 21, was the only rookie to advance to the Tour Championship and made 26 cuts in 35 starts, highlighted by seven top-10 finishes. He will receive the Arnold Palmer Award as the top rookie.

Switched: By the PGA Tour’s international tours, from money lists to points-based systems beginning in 2020. The developmental tours in Latin America, Canada and China will adopt points systems similar to how the PGA Tour and its Korn Ferry Tour operate in ranking players.
