Ended: Its agreement to host the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship after 21 years, Montreux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev., tournament officials announced. The club’s board of directors cited a months-long review of the tournament’s effect on club finances, facilities, members and homeowners in the gated community in the Sierra Nevada mountain range between Reno and Lake Tahoe. Chris Hoff, the Barracuda tournament director, told the Reno Gazette-Journal that Barricuda Networks is close to finalizing a renewal of its title sponsorship and that another host course is being sought in the Reno area. The Barricuda, which was played opposite the British Open and uses a modified Stableford scoring system, was won by rookie Collin Morikawa last month. The 2020 Barracuda is scheduled to be played two weeks earlier, on July 2-5, to accommodate the Summer Olympics near Tokyo.
