Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Collin Morikawa, who won the Barracuda Championship on Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory in only his sixth start as a professional. Morikawa, 22, was ranked No. 1,039 only seven weeks ago after he tied for 14th in his pro debut in the Canadian Open. He has shot up the world order in the past few weeks, beginning with a T-2 at the 3M Open, followed by a T-4 at the John Deere Classic before his breakthrough victory in Reno, Nev. He had entered the week at No. 172.


Amount, in dollars, that Collin Morikawa has earned in six PGA Tour events since he turned professional two months ago after graduating from California. Morikawa earned $630,000 for winning the Barracuda Championship. He is the second recent college alumnus to win on the PGA Tour this month, joining Oklahoma State’s Matthew Wolff, who left school after his sophomore year and won the 3M Open.
