The order of play for Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke, who will hit the opening tee shot in Thursday’s first round of the British Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. Clarke, the 2011 Open champion, will begin play at the first Open to be played in Northern Ireland since 1951. He will be paired with reigning British Amateur champion James Sugrue of Ireland and American Charley Hoffman in the 6:35 a.m. (local time) group (tee times).

Order of finish in this season’s three previous major championships for American Brooks Koepka, who will be looking for his fifth career major title when play begins Thursday in the 148th British Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. Koepka, 29, tied for second at the Masters, won the PGA Championship and placed second at the U.S. Open. He will tee off at 1:04 p.m. local time with South African Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open champion, and India’s Shubhankar Sharma (tee times).

Number of two-player teams that will compete at the LPGA’s inaugural Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, which begins today at Midland (Mich.) Country Club. The 72-hole stroke-play event will be the women’s tour’s first official team event. The first and third rounds will be played in foursomes (alternate shot), and the second and final rounds will be played in a four-ball (better-ball) format. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 35 teams and ties (tee times).
