Added: To the British Open field, Slovakia’s Rory Sabbatini, who will replace American Kevin Na, who withdrew from next week’s event because of an undisclosed injury. Sabbatini, 43, a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, has not played in the Open since 2011. American Brian Harman moves up to the top-alternate spot, with Germany’s Martin Kaymer at No. 2 and American Kevin Tway at No. 3. The 148th Open will be played July 18-21 at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.


Purchased: By Acushnet Holdings, the parent company of Titleist and FootJoy, the Swiss-based apparel maker KJUS. The company makes high-performance ski and golf apparel. No price was disclosed in the announcement by Acushnet. The move comes 18 months after Acushnet, based in Fairhaven, Mass., acquired Links & Kings, a U.S. manufacturer of handcrafted leather golf products.
