Number of playoff holes, spread over two days, that Sweden’s Henrik Norlander needed to defeat American Bryan Bigley and win the Wichita Open on the PGA Tour’s top developmental circuit. The victory assured Norlander of a return to the PGA Tour, which he played in the 2015-16 season. Norlander and Bigley had tied at 15-under 265 on Sunday at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kan., with Sebastian Cappelen, Erik Compton and Kevin Dougherty. The latter three were eliminated on the first playoff hole, but darkness pushed the playoff’s conclusion until early Monday. Norlander and Bigley made par on the par-4 18th hole before Norlander two-putted for par from 12 feet at the par-3 17th and Bigley three-putted (scores).


Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Chez Reavie, who improved 22 spots to a career high after his four-shot victory Sunday in the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship. Italy’s Andrea Pavan also achieved a career high in the OWGR, rising 50 spots to No. 83, after he won the European Tour’s BMW International Open.
