Number of consecutive birdies made by American Keegan Bradley in the middle of his round as he took the lead Thursday in the RBC Canadian Open in Hamilton, Ontario. Bradley birdied Nos. 7-11, holing five putts totaling 40 feet, as he shot a bogey-free 7-under 63 at Hamilton Golf & Country Club. Bradley, who turns 33 today, is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour who ended a six-year winless streak in September when he won the BMW Championship. Canadian Nick Taylor was among five players tied for second at 64, and countryman Adam Hadwin shot 65. Canadians David Hearn, Mackenzie Hughes and Drew Nesbitt were among a group at 66. No Canadian has won his national open in 65 years, since Pat Fletcher in 1954 (scores).


Percentage increase in rounds played in April, compared with the same month a year ago, according to Golf Datatech’s monthly National Golf Rounds Played Report. Aided by warmer weather across much of the country, golfers played more rounds in many regions of the nation, mainly to the north and east. The monthly surge puts the national number in the black for 2019, with rounds played up 1 percent over the first four months of 2018.


Number of strokes under par that American co-leaders Vince Covello, Matt Harmon and Ben Martin stood after the first round of the Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am in Greer, S.C. Covello and Martin shot 63 on the host Thornblade Club, and Harmon shot 64 on companion course Cliffs Valley. After play alternates on both courses again today, the weekend qualifiers will move to Thornblade for the final 36 holes (scores).


Number of two-person teams competing in the European Tour’s GolfSixes Cascais, which begins today at Oitavos Dunes in Cascais, Portugal. From the six-hole, match-play format, the top two teams from each of four groups will advance to the final day for the knockout phase. All team members will tee off on each hole before each team selects its best shot and proceeds with alternate shot to hole out (tee times).


Number of times that Masahiro “Massy” Kuramoto won on the Japan Golf Tour. Kuramoto is one of 17 former winners on the JGT who compiled a total of 101 victories to be entered in the Champions Tour’s Mastercard Japan Championship in Narita, Japan. Kuramoto, 63, who is one of eight sponsor exemptions in the 68-man field, is a former PGA Tour member. Play begins today at Narita Golf Club (tee times).


Number of holes to be played at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, which begins today at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club’s Bay Course in Galloway, N.J. (tee times). It is one of three tournaments on the LPGA’s 33-event schedule that will play 54 holes. The others: Walmart NW Arkansas Championship later this month and the Toto Japan Classic in the fall.
