Committed: By Tiger Woods, to play in next week’s Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. Woods missed the cut last week at the PGA Championship after having won the Masters Tournament five weeks earlier. He did not compete between the Masters and the PGA. Woods, 43, is a five-time winner of host Jack Nicklaus’ event at Muirfield Village Golf Club in suburban Columbus, near where Nicklaus was raised. Woods, who is No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking, was the third choice, at 12-1 odds, to win the U.S. Open, which will be played at Pebble Beach (Calif.) Golf Links, two weeks after the Memorial. Brooks Koepka, the two-time defending U.S. Open champion and recent winner of the PGA, was the 6-1 favorite with Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Dustin Johnson rated as the second pick, at 8-1.
