American Billy Horschel won the 2013 title in stroke play and then teamed with American Scott Piercy to win the 2018 event in the two-man format. Brynes set the world record from 7 a.m. PDT Monday to 7 a.m. PDT Tuesday at Half Moon Bay (Calif.) Golf Links' Ocean Course. Byrnes, 43, played the outfield in 2000-2010 for the Oakland A's, Colorado Rockies, Baltimore Orioles, Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners.
