Number of strokes by which American Dustin Johnson won the WGC Mexico Championship on Sunday. It was the 20th victory on the PGA Tour for Johnson, 34. He shot 5-under 66 for a 21-under 263 total at Chapultepec Golf Club in Mexico City. Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy (67) finished second at 16-under 268. Johnson became the 38th player in Tour history to win 20 or more times, and he was the first to win each of the four WGC events. Johnson was projected to move up one spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, to No. 2, behind Justin Rose (scores).

Number of career starts on the PGA Tour for American rookie Martin Trainer, who won the Puerto Rico Open for his first victory. Trainer shot 5-under 67 in the final round for a 15-under 273 total and three-stroke victory at Coco Beach Golf & Country Club at Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Trainer, 27, a 2013 Southern Cal graduate, won twice on the Web.com Tour last season in earning a promotion to the PGA Tour (scores).

Number of strokes under par that South Korea’s Amy Yang finished in posting a one-stroke victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Yang, 29, closed with a 7-under 65 for a 266 total at Siam Country Club Pattaya’s Old Course in Chonburi, Thailand. It was her third victory in the Thailand event and fourth career on the LPGA. Australia’s Minjee Lee (66) placed second at 21-under 267 (scores).
