Relaxed: The dress code on the PGA Tour, to allow shorts during practice and pro-am rounds, the Tour announced Monday. The policy takes effect this week on the PGA Tour and will apply to the other circuits under the Tour umbrella: Champions,, Latinoamerica, Canada and China. The shorts must be “knee-length, tailored and neat in appearance,” according to the Tour. Long pants still will be required during tournament rounds. The European Tour has allowed shorts during practice rounds since 2016, and the PGA of America has permitted shorts for practice rounds at the past two PGA Championships. PGA Tour caddies have been allowed to wear shorts during competition days since 1999.
