Breached: The Rules of Amateur Status, by amateur golfer Lucy Li, according to the U.S. Golf Association. Li, 16, of Redwood Shores, Calif., appeared in an Apple Watch advertisement (“In the news,” Jan. 7). The USGA found Li to be in violation of Rule 6-2 and issued her a one-time warning. She will retain her amateur status. Li is No. 8 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (“90 years ago, a precursor to Lucy Li’s case,” Jan. 10).

Committed: Tiger Woods, to play in the WGC Mexico Championship next week at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City. It will be his first competitive appearance in Mexico. Woods qualified for the limited-field event by advancing to last season’s 30-man Tour Championship. The WGC Mexico tournament replaced the longtime PGA Tour stop at Doral, where Woods won twice. Woods, 43, an 80-time winner on Tour, is competing this week at the Genesis Open, where he is the host of a tournament that benefits his TGR Foundation. Woods has yet to announce his schedule for the Florida Swing in the runup to the Masters in April.
