Confirmed: By Augusta National Golf Club, that 66 players have accepted invitations to compete in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur. The 54-hole event will be played April 3-6, with the first two rounds at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., followed by a 36-hole cut. A practice round will be held April 5 at Augusta National before the final 18 holes on April 6, the Saturday before the Masters. Lucy Li was among the players to have accepted an invitation, according to Augusta National. Li, 16, of Redwood Shores, Calif., is under investigation by the U.S. Golf Association for her participation in an Apple Watch advertisement (“In the news,” Jan. 7). Augusta National has six more invitations to extend to compete the 72-player field.

Selected: By the U.S. Golf Association, 17 sectional-qualifying sites for the U.S. Senior Women’s Open. The 18-hole qualifiers will be held April 17-30. The U.S. Senior Women’s Open will be played May 16-19 at Pine Needles Lodge in Southern Pines, N.C.
