That’s an increase of one tournament and $5.2 million in prize money from 2018, according to the LPGA. The season begins with the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions on Jan. 17-20 in Orlando, Fla.
Announced: By the European Tour, that Bryson DeChambeau will play in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on Jan. 24-27 in the United Arab Emirates. That means that DeChambeau, 25, a Californian who is ranked No. 5 in the world, will miss the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, which will be held opposite the Dubai event. During the past season, DeChambeau competed in Abu Dhabi in January and missed the cut. In 2016, as an amateur, he played in Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Dubai in consecutive weeks.
