Confirmed: By the PGA of America, that it will move its headquarters to Frisco, Texas, by mid-2022. The PGA, which represents approximately 29,000 club professionals, has been located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., since 1965. The PGA’s new home will anchor a $520 million mixed-use development north of Dallas. Plans call for two courses that will host major-championship golf, notably the 2027 and 2034 PGA Championships, two Senior PGAs, two Women’s PGAs and possibly a Ryder Cup.
Announced: By the Web.com Tour, that its Tour Championship will move to Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind. The 10-year deal begins in 2019 with the tour finale, to be played Aug. 30-Sept. 2. The $1 million tournament replaces the former United Leasing & Finance Championship, which had been scheduled for April 25-28 at Victoria National. A new tournament will be announced in January, tour officials said. Since its 1993 debut as the Nike Tour Championship at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon, the tour’s final event has bounced around, to 13 courses in eight states.
