The Belgians overcame four bogeys in the final round to shoot 4-under 68 for a 23-under 265 total. Australia’s Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith, the pre-tournament favorites, shared second with Mexico’s Abraham Ancer and Roberto Diaz at 20-under 268. Americans Matt Kuchar and Kyle Stanley tied for 16th (scores). Rounds 1 and 3 used a four-balls (better-ball) format, and Rounds 2 and 4 were foursomes (alternate shot).

Number of strokes under par that England’s Aaron Rai shot to win the Honma Hong Kong Open. It was his first victory on the European Tour in 46 career starts. Rai closed with a 1-under 69 for a 280 total and one-stroke victory over countryman Matthew Fitzpatrick (64) at Hong Kong Golf Club in the opening event on the European Tour’s 2018-19 schedule. Rai, a three-time winner on Europe’s developmental Challenge Tour in 2017, earned €292,343 (about $331,450) from the $2 million purse (scores).
