Kuchar vs. Westwood would trump other match
I heard a rumor today that a couple of famous golfers were going to tee it up in a match soon. Given the great results over the weekend, I thought it would be Matt Kuchar and Lee Westwood (“Kuchar, Westwood revel in art of winning,” Nov. 13). You can guess my disappointment when I found out who it really is: Who cares?
Kooch and Westy. Who wouldn't want to see those two go head-to-head? Golf, respect, and behavior as they should be. $1,000 a hole for the winner's favorite charity; not a fortune but, like the rest of us every weekend, it's the handshake and the handover of the cash that really matters.
How about the day before the Open at Royal Portrush next July? Maybe there's a way we could all put a tenner in to back our guy, winnings to add to the charity pot.
