Margin of victory, in strokes, for Vijay Singh at the Champions Tour’s Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Singh, 55, of Fiji, shot 10-under 61 on Sunday for a 22-under 262 total at Phoenix (Ariz.) Country Club (scores). It was the third victory of the season on the 50-and-older tour for Singh, who won $440,000 and vaulted to fourth in the season’s Charles Schwab Cup. Bernhard Langer, who tied for 13th in Phoenix, claimed his fifth season title and the $1 million bonus (season standings).


Number of strokes under par, a tournament record, that American Matt Kuchar finished to win the PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic. Kuchar closed with a 2-under 69 for a 262 total at El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It was his eighth career victory and first since the 2014 RBC Heritage. He earned $1.296 million from the $7.2 million purse. New Zealand’s Danny Lee (65) finished second at 21-under 263 (scores).


Number of career victories on the European Tour for Lee Westwood, who won the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Westwood, 45, of England, closed with an 8-under 64 at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa, for a 15-under 273 total and three-stroke victory. Spain’s Sergio Garcia (70) finished second at 12-under 276 (scores). In winning for the first time in 4½ years on the European Tour, Westwood earned €1,095,338 (about $1.24 million) from the $7.5 million purse. The tour’s Race to Dubai (rankings) concludes this week with the DP World Tour Championship in the United Arab Emirates.


Combined number of victories for Mexicans on the LPGA, after Gaby Lopez won the Blue Bay LPGA for her first victory. She joins countrywoman Lorena Ochoa, who retired in 2010 with 27 victories, as the only LPGA winners from Mexico. Lopez shot 1-over 73 in Saturday’s final round for an 8-under total and one-stroke victory at Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club on Hainan Island, China. Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn, a three-time winner this season who is No. 1 in the world rankings, shot 73 to finish second at 7-under 281. Lopez, 25, earned $315,000 from the $2.1 million purse (scores). The LPGA wraps up its season this week with the CME Group Championship at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla.
