Disclosed: By Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee, that he intends to play at least six tournaments on the Champions Tour next season, Golfweek.com reported. Chamblee, 56, who won one time in 14 seasons on the PGA Tour, won a qualifier to compete in this year’s Senior British Open – his first competitive round in a decade, he said – but missed the cut. Chamblee told Golfweek.com that he has been practicing for five hours a day. “Why now?” he said. “I realized that time is fading, you know?”
Released: The Champions Tour’s 2019 tournament schedule, which will feature 27 tournaments and prize money of nearly $58 million. In its 40th season, the 50-and-older tour will play in four countries and 19 American states (schedule).
