Ginger and Mary Ann, not Phil and Tiger
Phil Mickelson vs. Tiger Woods: Who cares? Two mega-millionaires playing for other people’s money, which they don’t need and can very much afford not to win (“Only 1 reason to watch Woods-Mickelson,” Oct. 19). They will, no doubt, play embarrassingly dismal rounds.
Gary Van Sickle is partially right in suggesting that letting pay-per-view customers (Seriously? People are going to pay to watch this clown act?) gamble in real time might bring some excitement. If these two multimillionaires put up, oh, say, 20 or 30 million of their own cheddar, maybe they would get my attention. Then again, maybe not. I’ll watch “Gilligan’s Island” reruns instead.
Whoever put up the $9 million (the pay-per-view people?), I think are going to regret it – all the way from the bank.
Watch Woods-Mickelson match? Don’t bet on it
Even if I could bet on the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson match as I watch it, I would not waste my time, even though I love to watch golf during colder days (“Only 1 reason to watch Woods-Mickelson,” Oct. 19).
It would be a little more interesting if they were putting up the $9 million instead of some foolish sponsor.
Maybe 10 years ago it would have been interesting, but not now, and not when neither golfer has anything at stake other than his ego.
Thanks for keeping it interesting.
