Number of strokes under par that England’s David Skinns stood after the first round to lead the Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open. Skinns offset two bogeys with nine birdies to shoot 64 at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho. Skinns, 36, who won the Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship in Omaha, Neb., in July, held a one-stroke lead over American Martin Trainer, South Korea’s Sangmoon Bae and Argentina’s Fabian Gomez. The Boise Open is the developmental tour’s penultimate event and the third of four playoff tournaments, before next week’s Tour Championship at Atlantic Beach (Fla.) Country Club (scores).


First-round score for China Ashun Wu, who leads the European Tour’s KLM Open after a bogey-free 7-under round at The Dutch in Spijk, Netherlands. England’s Chris Wood shot a bogey-free 6-under 65 to stand second (scores).


First-round scores for co-leaders Carlota Ciganda of Spain and Maria Torres of Puerto Rico in the LPGA’s Evian Championship. Their 5-under score at Evian Resort in Evian-les-Bains, France, leads American Austin Ernst by one stroke. The Evian is the LPGA’s fifth and final major championship of the season (scores).
