Percentage decline in U.S. rounds played in July, compared with the same month a year ago, according to Golf Datatech’s National Golf Rounds Played Report. For the first seven months of 2018, U.S. rounds played were down 2.9 percent from the same period last year. The Mid-Atlantic states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania led the slide in July, with rounds played down 8.5 percent from the same month in 2017. In the Mountain region, play was up 4 percent from a year ago, led by increases in Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
