Died: Bunky Henry, a former winner on the PGA Tour, on Aug. 17 from complications during heart surgery, according to the Tour. He was 74. George Walter Henry Jr., nicknamed Bunky by his grandmother, played football at Georgia Tech in the mid-1960s and once held the NCAA record for consecutive extra-point kicks, at 50. Henry compiled a noted amateur record in the 1960s, winning the 1962 Southern Amateur, the 1964 Georgia Amateur and the 1965 Canadian Amateur, among other titles. His lone Tour title was the 1969 National Airlines Open in Miami.


Signed: By the European Tour, a contract to co-sponsor the 2019 Victoria Open with the PGA Tour of Australasia. The tournament will be played Feb. 7-10 at 13th Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads, near Melbourne. The Ladies European Tour and the Australian Ladies Professional Golf also will be playing that week at 13th Beach Golf Links. One week later, both tours will head west for the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth event. It will be the first time since 2004 that the European Tour will have played back-to-back events Down Under.
