Gillman ran off nine birdies to breeze to the title. As a 16-year-old, she won the 2014 Women’s Amateur (scores).
Number of major championships that American Brooks Koepka has won in his career. Koepka, 28, shot 4-under 66 in the final round of the PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis for a 16-under 264 total and two-stroke victory against a resurgent Tiger Woods, who closed with a 64. Koepka becomes only the fifth golfer to win the U.S. Open and PGA in the same year, joining Woods (2000), Jack Nicklaus (1980), Ben Hogan (1948) and Gene Sarazen (1922) (scores).

Qualifiers for the U.S. Ryder Cup team that will play Europe this fall, the PGA of America announced. Brooks Koepka, by virtue of his victory in the PGA Championship, supplanted Dustin Johnson as No. 1 in the standings. The other qualifiers, in order: Johnson, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Webb Simpson. Captain Jim Furyk has four at-large picks to complete the team. The biennial matches will be played Sept. 28-30 at Le Golf National near Paris (standings).
