Disclosed: By Graham DeLaet, that he will miss at least 6-12 more months on the PGA Tour to undergo back surgery. DeLaet, 36, of Canada, has not played since October as he tried stem-cell injections and a non-surgical approach to address his lingering back pain. He said on Twitter that the targeted lower-back area of his L4-L5 disks “has gotten worse since the procedure.” DeLaet, a three-time winner on the Canadian Tour who joined the PGA Tour in 2010, also missed most of the 2011 season with back issues.

Named: By European captain Catriona Matthew, two assistant captains for the 2019 Solheim Cup. Norway’s Suzann Pettersen and Scotland’s Kathryn Imrie will join Europe’s staff for the biennial matches against the U.S. set for Sept. 13-15, 2019, at Gleneagles in Auchterarder, Scotland.
