Withdrew: From next week’s British Open, Bernd Wiesberger, who cited an ongoing wrist injury. Wiesberger, of Austria, will be replaced by American Andrew Landry. The next three alternates, in order: Keegan Bradley (U.S.), Adrian Otaegui (Spain) and Aaron Wise (U.S.). The 147th British Open is scheduled for July 19-22 at Carnoustie (Scotland) Golf Links.

Launched: A website by the R&A to offer British Open memorabilia for sale to the public. According to the R&A, net proceeds from will benefit grow-the-game initiatives.

Appointed: Giles Morgan, as chief executive officer at 5Oceans Partnership, an international investor and advisory company in sports and entertainment. Morgan worked for the past 12 years at HSBC, heading sponsorship and events.
