Odds set by Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook for American Dustin Johnson to win next month’s British Open at Carnoustie (Scotland) Golf Links. Johnson, who is No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, also was the pick to win the recent U.S. Open before he squandered a four-shot lead after 36 holes and finished third. Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy was a 14-1 pick to win the British Open, followed by Americans Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas and England’s Justin Rose at 16-1. England’s Tommy Fleetwood, the runner-up in the U.S. Open was an 18-1 choice for Carnoustie. American Brooks Koepka, who won a second consecutive U.S. Open, joined Spain’s Jon Rahm at 20-1.

Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Bubba Watson, an improvement of seven spots and his highest ranking since early 2017, after his victory Sunday in the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship. Watson, a two-time Masters champion, was a fixture in the OWGR’s top 10 in 2012-16, rising as high as No. 2.
