Number of players who were within six strokes of the lead entering today’s final round of the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, N.Y. Daniel Berger, Tony Finau, defending champion Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson shared the lead at 3-over 213. Berger and Finau, each of whom shot 4-under 66, posted two of only three under-par scores on Saturday – all earlier in the day. Kiradech Aphibarnrat shot 68 to jump 51 spots on the leaderboard, into a tie for seventh (scores).
Third-round scores for co-leaders Lee-Anne Pace of South Africa and Anna Nordqvist of Sweden at the Meijer LPGA Classic. They stood tied at 18-under 198 at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich. South Korea’s So Yeon Ryu (69) held third place at 16-under 200 (scores).
