Refreshing candor regarding Woods

It is so refreshing to read someone in the press be honest about Tiger Woods, to express the same thoughts my fellow amateurs have regarding his performance. Ditto, your thoughts on Rory McIlroy (“McIlroy’s candor counters Woods’ illusions,” May 9).

When Woods plays, viewers take notice

So what if Tiger Woods is past his prime. He could be matched against Grandma Moses and get higher ratings than the Past Our Prime Gang on the Senior Tour, or whatever it's called now.

Higher ratings means that people are watching.

TPC Jurassic Park

Whoever is responsible for setting up the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course should be ashamed.

No way is the Players Championship a fifth major. All they do is talk about No. 17.

The course was tough in the 1980s, but today, with better athletes, modern equipment, a hot golf ball and no howling wind, it is overmatched and has become a dinosaur.
