Horschel and Piercy shot a final-round 5-under 67 in the foursomes (alternate shot) format in the final round at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La. Their 22-under 266 total clipped Americans Jason Dufner and Pat Perez, who closed with 68 for a 21-under 267 total. South Africans Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen (68) placed third at 20-under 268. Horschel, who won the 2013 New Orleans event when it was a stroke-play event, owns five Tour victories; Piercy has four (scores).

Number of strokes under par that Jose de Jesus Rodriguez finished to win the Web.com Tour’s United Leasing and Finance Championship. Rodriguez, 37, of Mexico, closed with a 2-under 70 for a 282 total and one-stroke victory over American Wyndham Clark (67). Maverick McNealy, who surged in front with a first-round 64, faded with 73-74-74 to share third place with South Korean Kyoung-Hoon Lee (66) at 3-under 285 (scores).

Number of birdies that Sweden’s Alexander Bjork made in a bogey-free final-round 65 at Beijing’s Topwin Golf Club to win the Volvo China Open for his first European Tour title. Bjork, 27, graduated from the Challenge Tour in 2016. Spain’s Adrian Otaegui (67) finished second, one stroke behind, at 17-under 271 (scores).

Number of career victories on the LPGA tour for Lydia Ko, who eagled the first playoff hole to defeat Minjee Lee in the LPGA Mediheal Championship. It was the first victory for Ko, 21, of New Zealand, since her four-victory season in 2016, a span of 43 starts (scores).
