Position of Rory McIlroy in the Official World Golf Ranking, up from No. 13, after his victory Sunday in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla. McIlroy was ranked No. 1 for a cumulative 95 weeks in 2012-15. Tiger Woods, who tied for fifth at Bay Hill – his third consecutive finish of 12th or better – improved to No. 105. That’s up from 656th at the end of 2017 for Woods, who holds the record for most weeks at No. 1, a cumulative 683 from 1997 to 2014 (ranking).

Number of players in this week’s WGC Dell Technologies Match Play at Austin (Texas) Country Club. Players were seeded according to their position in the Official World Golf Ranking. After a drawing Monday night determined the 16 four-man groups, matches will begin Wednesday (tee times). The 16 group winners advance to sudden-death play beginning Saturday.
