Keeping score


Number of tournaments this season, in four starts, in which Tiger Woods has opened with an under-par round. Woods shot 1-under 70 on Thursday at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course in the first round of the Valspar Championship at Palm Harbor, Fla. Woods made five birdies against four bogeys. He stands tied for eighth, three strokes behind leader Corey Conners of Canada. Americans Kelly Kraft and Nick Watney were tied for second with South Korea’s Whee Kim at 68 (scores).


First-round score for American Maverick McNealy and Colombian Sebastian Munoz, who co-led Tour’s El Bosque Mexico Championship at 8 under after 18 holes. McNealy, 22, a former top-ranked amateur and All-American at Stanford, birdied his final two holes, Nos. 8 and 9, at El Bosque Country Club in Leon, Mexico. Munoz, 25, made 10 birdies, including his final three holes (scores).  


First-round score for Emiliano Grillo, who led the European Tour’s Hero Indian Open, which was suspended because of darkness. At 7 under, Grillo held a two-stroke lead at DLF Golf Club in New Delhi (scores).
