With Memorial victory, his 2nd title of PGA Tour season, Cantlay returns to top 10 in Official World Golf Ranking
7: Position in the Official World Golf Ranking for American Patrick Cantlay, who won the Memorial Tournament on Sunday, one day before returning to the top 10 in the world order. Cantlay, 29, moved up eight spots in the ranking, to within one place of his career-high sixth, with his second victory of the PGA Tour season. He had been ranked among the top 10 for most of the past two seasons, dating to his 2019 victory at Memorial. Two weeks before his victory over the weekend at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Cantlay tied for 23rd at the PGA Championship, ending a streak of three consecutive missed cuts. American Collin Morikawa, who lost in a playoff to Cantlay at the Memorial, improved two spots, to a career-high No. 4 in the world. American Dustin Johnson retained the top spot in the OWGR for a 42nd consecutive week. Johnson will headline the field for this week’s inaugural Palmetto Championship in his native South Carolina.
