Australian, Englishman share lead at Porsche European Open

Maverick Antcliff, Matthew Southgate set pace at 5-under 139 entering final round Monday in Hamburg, Germany

2: Number of players tied for the lead after two rounds of the European Tour’s Porsche European Open. Australia’s Maverick Antcliff and England’s Matthew Southgate shared the lead Sunday at 5-under 139. Antcliff, 28, birdied his last three holes to shoot 4-under 68, and Southgate, 32, signed for a 69 at Green Eagle Golf Courses in Hamburg, Germany. Each is looking for his first victory on the tour. Italy’s Edoardo Molinari shot the round of the tournament, a 7-under 65, to surge into a tie for third with Scotsmen David Law (71) and Scott Jamieson (70) and the Netherlands’ Darius Van Driel (69) at 4-under 140. The tournament was rescheduled from a standard 72-hole event to start on Thursday to a 54-hole, Saturday-Monday format because of COVID-19-related travel restrictions imposed by Germany that would have affected many of the players coming from the U.K. The final round was scheduled for Monday.
